The wave
Surf it. Don't drown.
Some people see the wave and freeze. Some go under and gasp. The goal of AI Skills Club is to teach the skill of surfing: stay with the change, celebrate it, and keep learning as newer waves arrive.
KarmYog for 21st Century presents
A learning club, not a course marketplace. Born at IIT Kharagpur Research Park. Powered by KarmYog for 21st Century. Learn to create with AI, teach others, and grow through badges, workshops and real projects.
The world is already moving
From the launch announcement by Sambha Chary: large language models arrived, then agentic AI, and robotics is next. The club does not ask you to become a model researcher. It asks you to become fluent - so you can use AI to improve daily life and solve other people's problems.
The wave
Some people see the wave and freeze. Some go under and gasp. The goal of AI Skills Club is to teach the skill of surfing: stay with the change, celebrate it, and keep learning as newer waves arrive.
The roads of AI
The launch video uses this metaphor: America did not only manufacture automobiles. It built roads so everyone could benefit. India must build AI skills the same way - so the nation is not left watching from the roadside.
From the announcement
After the United States, India has one of the deepest concentrations of AI users, creators and coders. The missing piece is mass driving skill: carpenter, farmer, artist, student, scientist - everyone who should be able to steer.
The end game
The AI revolution will matter most to people who can create outcomes: more productivity, a stronger livelihood or business, or a problem actually solved. Models and tools are roads. Value is what you drive to.
Same craft. More leverage. Less grind that serves no one.
Use AI so a shop, a farm, a studio or a practice can serve more people without losing its soul.
Someone else's bottleneck, not a demo. Fluency is the means. The result is the point.
Technology for technology's sake will be less valuable. Skill that produces an outcome will not.
What this is
A club means a movement from I to we. Companionship is the method: guru-sannidha (learning beside those slightly ahead) and sahabhav (friendship among members). Formal paths exist. Fear-based exams do not.
Peer teaching, badges, workshops, and celebration. Yellow helps white. Brown helps yellow. Higher-badge members mentor lower-badge members.
School students, college students, professionals, entrepreneurs, beginners. Carpenter, rickshaw driver, mason, plumber, painter, farmer, coder, scientist.
The purpose is atmabharat - self-sufficiency - and becoming a greater human being. Jobs and prestige may follow. They are not the promise.

Who can join
Callout
The first test is not marks. It is sadhana - committed practice. Aesthetic sense, scientific temper, curiosity in history, geography and life sciences, sport and youthful energy all help. Exam scores do not close the door.
Start before the wave becomes the only weather.
Learn to create, not only consume tools before a placement brochure.
Bring your craft. Let AI multiply it without erasing it.
Build value for others. That is the club's measure of worth.
Start with commitment, not a prior certificate in AI.
Why join
You may earn more, become more valuable, gain prestige. The deeper aim, from the announcement, is dharma as ethical living - not a sect - and liberation from salary-only aspiration.
Use, create, teach.
Progress framed as celebration, not punishment.
A we, not a queue of profiles.
Those slightly ahead walk with you.
Work that helps someone else.
What you'll learn
Start here
The craft of asking, steering and iterating with machines so they become useful in your actual work - not a parlour trick.
Use AI so yesterday's grind becomes today's leverage.
Think, shape and compose with AI as a partner, not a ghostwriter you hide.
Build faster, read code better, and stay in charge of what ships.
Connect tools. Remove repetition. Keep judgment human.
Portfolio work that solves someone else's problem, not a tutorial clone.
Club activities
Hands-on sessions. Show up. Practice. Leave with a skill you can use the same day.
Members teach members. The person one step ahead is your nearest guru.
Distilled expertise from practitioners, held inside the IIT and KarmYog network.
Proof of work. Projects that can be shown, not just certificates that can be framed.
Talk about what is changing - LLMs, agents, robotics - without empty hype.
Badge journey
White, then yellow/green, then brown, then black - with dan levels inside black. Formal assessments exist. They are designed as celebrations. The members of this club teach one another.
Begin. Learn beside someone slightly ahead.
Now you help the white belts rise.
Depth, responsibility, quieter mastery.
And higher dan. A beacon for the movement.
Launch announcement
Sambha Chary
Sambha Chary introduces the AI Skills Club — why it exists, how the badge journey works, and why the first 9 members will become founding pillars of a nationwide AI skills movement. Offline, the words remain on this page. Online, the film plays here.

Founding 9
The club opens with 9 founding members. They remain founding members for life. No major monetary fees. No degree requirement. The test is total commitment plus the will to create outcomes - productivity, livelihood, or a problem solved. These nine are the beacons who grow this club from IIT Kharagpur Research Park to the nation and beyond.

Questions
Both in spirit. There are formal learning paths and badge progression, with the culture of a club: companionship and celebration. It is not a rigid exam-only school, and not a generic online AI course marketplace.
No. No prior AI knowledge required. Commitment is the first requirement.
No major monetary fees. The currency is sadhana - committed practice.
Practical AI skills, badges and certificates, mentorship, projects, and community. No job or salary guarantee. The aim is intrinsic value and service.
KarmYog for 21st Century, anchored at IIT Kharagpur Research Park. The launch was addressed by Sambha Chary.
Nine only, in the first month. They remain founding members forever. After that the club is meant to multiply.
